
Airtel donates to Lilongwe school
Mthuthama Primary School in Kasungu is expected to wear a new face after Airtel donated 100 bags of cement towards the construction of new classroom blocks.
The donation will benefit 320 students.
Handing over the donation, Airtel Managing Director, Charles Kamoto, said the support is part of the company’s commitment to support the education sector.
“As a company that wants to see Malawians thrive in all sectors of life, including education, we felt
obliged to donate towards a cause that would see students learning in an enjoyable and dignified environment conducive for mental growth,” Kamoto said.
In his remarks President of Kasungu Lions Club, who initiated the project, Jack Kammayani thanked Airtel for heeding the call.
“We are very happy that the dream which started last year has now become a reality,” he said.
Headmaster of Mtuthama Primary school Hopeson Chimpopo said the donation will reduce student dropout rate.
