Central East African Railways (Cear) has committed to increasing investment towards the country’s rail transport and doubling its capacity.
Cear and Vale Logistics Director of Operations, Gustavo Stein, said this during a long-serving-staff award ceremony in Blantyre on Friday.
“We have plans to increase the volume of general cargo to assist in making the transport sector efficient in the country,” Stein said.
He then commended Cear staff for commitment in ensuring success of its business.
Stein said the company has registered tremendous success in the past years due to staff dedication and commitment.
He added that as Cear celebrates 20 years of operations in the country, it will continue motivating its staff while offering quality services to customers.
One of the awardees, Lias Mteya, who has worked with the company for 20 years, thanked the company for the recognition.
Mteya attributed the attainment to commitment and loyalty coupled with passion for the job.
Mteya encouraged the younger generation to be diligent in their work.
