CFAO hosts go4school charity rally troupe
CFAO Malawi last Friday played host to 46 participants of a charity rally which started off from South Africa through Namibia and Zambia before arriving in Blantyre in support of Opportunity International Germany’s go4school initiative.
The teams travelled in 17 donated VW Amaroks vehicles.
The team covered a total of 4,000 kilometres from South Africa and another 1,500km within Malawi.
The participants financed the transportation of the vehicles from Germany to Malawi and through the sale of these vehicles, all revenues go to micro-school projects in Malawi.
Speaking at Mandala Gardens on welcoming the drivers and their families, CFAO Malawi managing director, David Blair, commended the participants for their dedication and selflessness for the under-privileged children in Malawi.
“Many children in Malawi cannot attend school due to financial difficulties. What you have done is heart-warming and shows Opportunity International’s commitment to community programmes in Malawi,” said Blair.
