Hello Group, a financial technology firm, has launched its mobile money transfer service in Malawi and Zimbabwe.
Through its money transfer service, Hello Paisa, Malawians who work abroad can send their families funds, which they can collect at any Malawi Post and First Merchant Bank branch.
In Zimbabwe, Hello Group has forged strategic partnerships with popular retailers such as TM Stores, Pick ‘n Pay, Telecash and Zimpost for a similar service.
Managing Director of Hello Paisa, Ahmed Cassim, said money transfer services contribute substantially to a country’s economy.
“Not only is it an important source of household income for thousands of families, it serves as a key contributor to critical sectors like education, entrepreneurship and healthcare,” said Cassim.
“We as an organisation see our services as not capitalising on informal sectors but building communities through technology to drive positive change within their societies,” said Nadir Khamissa, Hello Group chief executive officer.
Khamissa calls on Malawians and Zimbabweans to help bridge the gap on financial inclusion by experiencing the low-cost international money transfer solution that puts convenience and security first.
Customers can place orders through Hello Paisa’s Android Mobile phone application or via the company’s call centre and then settle their transactions at any Hello Store, FMB, Shoprite, Pick n Pay or Spar stores in Malawi and Zimbabwe countrywide. – The Herald, Zimbabwe
