
Energem Petroleum in expansion drive
ONE of the country’s petroleum firms, Energem Petroleum Limited, has announced plans to establish 20 more service centres within a year.
Energem’s Managing Director, DanieVosloo, made the remarks after he opening a business centre (gas station) at Njerwa along Mchinji Road in Lilongwe.
Vosloo said they are targeting urban areas and some parts of the Central and Northern regions to expand their services to. Energem has been operating mainly in rural and along lakeshores areas.
“So far, we have 15 filling stations in the country, but we are in the process of adding 20 more within 12 months,” Vosloo said.
During the launch, Second Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Clement Chiwaya, hailed Energem for targeting both rural and urban areas.
He said the filling station is going to serve people within Njerwa, which is also an industrial area after Kanengo, apart from being an important road that connects Malawi to Lusaka in Zambia.
Among others the site has restrooms and a tuckshop
