Fordwuo is Ecobank Malawi’s new Managing Director

One of the country’s high street banks, Ecobank Malawi, has announced the appointment of Ghanaian Banker, Raymond Fordwuo, as its new Managing Director.

A statement published by the Bank indicates that Fordwuo, has 25 years of experience in the sector working across the continent.

He replaces Charles Asiedu who has been deployed to Tanzania on a similar position.

The Bank’s Board Chairman, Leonnard Chikadya, congratulated Fordwuo on his appointment.

“Raymond Fordwuo is not new in Malawi, he has been serving as the Director of the Bank until his appointment as Managing Director,” Chikadya said.

Until his appointment, Fordwuo has been a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Ecobank Malawi since 2017, serving on the Credit Review and the Governance, Nominations and Appointment Committees of the bank.

He holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) and Master of Applied Business Research, both from SBS Swiss Business School Zurich-Kloten, Switzerland.

He also has an Executive Master in Business Administration (EMBA) and Bachelor of Arts, both from the University of Ghana.
