Hope for the Hopeless on Saturday donated items worth K250, 000 to children with cerebral palsy at Wumi Wumo foundation in Mpemba, Blantyre.

Speaking after the donation, the grouping’s interim Chairperson, Alick Sapangwa, said they decided to visit the foundation to appreciate the hardships the children are facing.

“We decided to cheer the children and encourage their parents to continue caring for them,” Sapangwa said.

The items included squash, soap, salt, sugar, matches and diapers for the 30 children registered with the foundation.

In addition to this, the group also donated second hand clothes they collected from well-wishers.

Wumi Wumo Foundation Founder, Marriam Lally, said the donation was timely and will enable children and guardians to celebrate the festive season just like everyone else.

“The donation will go a long way to improve the health of the children with cerebral palsy and other developmental delays,” she said.

Hope for the Hopeless is a grouping of 15 friends from Mandala, Chitawira, Naperi and Mpemba who came together to consider life’s challenges and reach out to others with the blessings that God bestowed on them.
