Insurer settles K121m claim
Company Limited has presented a cheque worth over K121 million to Poly Pack Limited as compensation for a damage suffered due to fire that gutted its factory in Blantyre in January this year.
Charter Insurance Limited Acting Chief Executive Officer, Isaac Phiri, said when he presented the cheque in Blantyre on Thursday that the company had to react quickly to the claim considering the magnitude of the loss and its impact on the client’s business.
“This is the gesture of our commitment to ensure that we settle the claim of our client within the stipulated time frame,” said Phiri.
Poly Pack Financial Controller, Srinivas Nara, said the compensation would help the company restore its business operations.
“Our business and entire operations were greatly affected by the fire,” said Nara.
