KMPG treats Steka kids
Auditing firm KPMG on Saturday donated assorted items worth over K600 00 to Step Kids Awareness (Steka) Orphanage in Malagalasi, Blantyre.
The items included maize flower, Likuni phala, bales of sugar, mosquito nets, snacks and drinks.
KPMG Representative Manager, Holmes Banda, said KPMG employees alongside the company contribute money every month that is used to assist communities that are in need. The program is called KPMG Community Services (KComs).
“What you are seeing today is a fruit of KMPG’s efforts to assist the people in need,” said Banda who is also chairman of KComs
“In these children we see the future of this country and that is why we want to be here and see the future grow,” he added
In his remarks, Director of Steka, Godknows Maseko expressed his gratitude over the gesture towards the 47 orphans that the orphanage looks after.
“My wife and I cannot manage on our own and we appreciate the assistance from KPMG,” he said.
