One of the country’s cement producers, Lafarge Malawi, on Tuesday launched a health campaign which seeks to sensitise employees and business partners on how to live a healthy life.
The launch of the campaign took place at the firm’s head office in Blantyre.
Lafarge Malawi Chief Executive Officer, Albert Sigei, said the firm has a policy of ensuring that employees live a healthy life.
“The workforce that is healthy will contribute to the social and business development of the company and family as a whole,” he said.
Sigei also said the campaign is part of Lafarge’s Ambition Zero strategy aimed at eliminating cases of accidents by 2025.
“The company also plans to engage stakeholders such as customers, suppliers as well as its surrounding communities during the campaign,” Sigei said.
During the campaign, employees, customers and business partners from the construction industry will be equipped with health tips which will help them live a healthy life.
The launch of the campaign was characterised by presentations and speeches from local as well as international health experts.
