
Meeting to discuss pigeon pea farming
The African Institute of Corporate Citizenship (AICC) with support from Business Innovations Facility in partnership with the Civil Society Agriculture Network (Cisanet) has organised a Pigeon Pea Conference to take place at Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre on Thursday.
Cisanet said the purpose of the conference is to provide a strategic forum for stakeholders in the pigeon pea value chain to discuss the coordination and collaboration arrangements in the industry, as well as proposed models going forward.
It said the conference will focus on the current interventions that aim at promoting competitiveness of the pigeon pea industry in Malawi, investment opportunities that exist in the industry, challenges that market player’s face and possible solutions, and mainly how collaboration and coordination can be stimulated and enhanced in the industry.
Participants to the conference will include seed industry stakeholders, input suppliers, processors and exporters from both the public and private sectors, farmers’ organizations, relevant Government departments, and the donor community.
