As part of its corporate social responsibility, Malawi Telecommunications Limited (MTL) has donated various items worth K600,000 to Mulanje District Hospital maternity wing.
The items include packets of sugar, plastic buckets, laundry soap and orange squash.
MTL Corporate Affairs Manager, Tina Das, said the company wanted to share its joy with mothers who had just given birth or were waiting to give birth.
“As a corporate responsible citizen, we had to share with our mothers here in Mulanje the little that we have. As a company, we also have in mind the future generation that might become MTL employees, “Das said.
Mulanje District Hospital maternity wing Sister-in- Charge, Lonely Steven, thanked MTL for the donation.
She said most mothers struggle to find essentials once they give birth.
