Mzuzu-based Boyd Kaunda on Friday became a millionaire when he won K2 million during the final draw of Kuphukira ndi FDH Bank Promotion.
Kaunda, a pharmacy technician at St John Hospital, said he would use the money to upgrade his academic qualification.
“I am very happy to have won the prize. Thank you very much FDH Bank. It will help me a lot in advancing my education,” Kaunda said.
The draw also saw MicksonMwambungu, a Karonga-based cement vendor, winning K500,000.
The bank also gave away K100,000 to five other lucky winners while 10 others went home with K50,000 each.
Speaking after the draw, FDH Senior Manager for Channels, Maureen Nalikungwi, said the promotion met its objective of helping customers to reactivate dormant accounts.
“I am happy to report that the campaign has been a success. In the three months of the promotion, we have had a lot of customers reactivating their accounts and we are delighted to see customers being active again,” Nalikungwi said.
To enter the promotion, customers had to deposit a minimum of K25,000 to reactivate an inactive account or maintain a minimum balance of K50,000 for a minimum of one month.
The Kuphukira ndi FDH Promotion was launched on October 4 and ran up to December 27 2017.
