National Bank of Malawi (NBM) has partnered the Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC) in a promotion which will see the corporation’s tenants settling rentals through the bank.
The promotion, dubbed ‘Kwathu pa Mo’, seeks to see a lucky winner receiving a six-month rental payment at the end of the competition.
NBM Head of Digital Financial Services Division William Kaunda said the competition targets clients who make MHC payments through digital platforms like MO626 SSD code or MO626 Ice digital.
“The final draw will be done on March 4. Our aim is to encourage Malawians to continue to make digital payments. There are customers that fail to make payments in banks due to Covid or congestion,” he said.
MHC Business Researcher Chancy Chauluka said the corporation sees this as an opportunity to make extra money.
“People can now pay rentals from the comfort of their homes. We cannot give a picture of financial challenges the company may have faced due to challenges people are dealing with. We thus hope to acquire more money through customer’s payments of ground or house rentals,” he said.
The competition is set to last for three months. Three people will each win K50, 000 shopping vouchers as well as month-long house rental fees.
