NBS Bank introduces EasySwipe point of sale devices

Malawi Stock Exchange listed NBS Bank plc on Saturday launched EasySwipe point of sale (POS) devices which will help shoppers make instant payments using debit or credit cards.

NBS Bank Chief Executive Officer, Kwanele Ngwenya, said customers should not carry cash whenever they want to buy goods and services.

“This is a safe and secure way of transacting. It is also a convenient payment method,” he said.

Ngwenya added that the NBS EasySwipe POS machines will be made available in most major retailer shops across the country.

He further said, as part of encouraging customers to appreciate EasySwipe, NBS Bank has launched a promotion which will see customers winning various prizes.

“The campaign is targeting the festive season when transactions are at the peak. Customers using EasySwipe in selected merchant shops stand a chance to win instant branded merchandise and weekly cash backs of K50,000. There will also be a grand prize of K1 million at the end of the promotion,” Ngwenya said.

The promotion runs up to January 7 2018.
