Nedbank hype goes township

Barely a week after launching its new savings account, Nedbank last week gave some commuters from Chilobwe, Ndirande, Machinjiri, Chilomoni and Bangwe a pleasant surprise when it paid their minibus fares.

Nedbank Marketing and Business Development Manager Tidzi Chalamba said on Friday that the initiative was part of reaching out to its customers with messages of the newly launched savings account.

The initiative saw models donning Nedbank colours riding minibuses and paying for all the passengers on board.

“In life there are things that matter and things that really matter. For a person who commutes to work, a bus fare is one thing that really matters said Chalamba.

He said the bank will take the campaign to other townships in Blantyre this week before moving on to the central and northern regions.

He said as a bank that believes in enabling achievement to make things happen, this surprisingly, exciting kind gesture is a true testament to their brand promise.

The savings account comes with an embedded funeral cover of K50, 000; Free ATM card and ATM transactions plus many more benefits, said Chalamba.
