Nedbank Malawi has given out K3.5 million to lucky customers during the first draw of its Save and Win promotion.
Lilongwe based Romeo Maxwell won the overall monthly prize of K2 million during the draw which was held at Nedbank head office in Blantyre.
The promotion, which runs up to October 31, will see Nedbank giving out K3.5 million every month in cash prizes with the overall monthly winner pocketing K2 million.
Nedbank Marketing Manager, Tidzi Chalamba, told journalist after the first draw that the promotion has been embraced positively.
“Since the launch of the promotion, we have seen an overwhelming response as more people are coming to bank with us. We have also seen growth in the money that our existing customers are saving with us,” Chilamba said.
The promotion comes at a time when saving culture among Malawians remains poor.
Chilamba then said the promotion was also mainly aimed at inculcating saving culture among the bank’s existing and potential clients.
“We believe that a saving culture will help in boosting our economy and also drive the right behaviour because it is the basis for financial prudence,” Chilamba said.
To stand a chance to win in the promotion, Chilamba said new customers should open an account with the bank and maintain a minimum balance of K100,000.
He added that the promotion is open to individual account holders such as retail account holders and individual SMEs.
