New NBS promotion to encourage savings

NBS Bank has rolled out a new initiative dubbed the Current Account/Savings Account (CASA) promotion which is meant to improve and promote savings culture among its existing and potential customers.

The promotion is targeted at both existing and potential customers to increase their level of savings with the bank and stand a chance of winning various prizes.

NBS Service Centre Manager for Limbe, Edwin Visabwe, said in an interview at the launch of the promotion at Limbe branch level that the initiative will enable NBS Bank to reach out to the potential customers in remote areas with various services and civic education on financial management.

“We will increase our visibility among the customers while improving the savings culture. We want to sensitize them that we are considerate to both existing and potential customers and we are following them with our services to improve their socio-economic wellbeing,” he said.

“Saving has been a problem [in Malawi] so we want to change the culture so that people should start saving and improve their social economic challenges,” he said.

Visabwe said with the prevailing economic woes, improved savings culture would help ease the pressure faced by individuals.

The promotion runs up to April.
