Nico Assets gives K1m to Kachere
Nico Asset Managers Company has donated five wheel chairs worth K1 million to Kachere Rehabilitation Centre in Blantyre.
Nico Asset Managers chief investment officer Emmanuel Chokani said when he presented the wheel chairs to the centre that the company recognises the challenges the centre is going through, hence the donation.
“As a good corporate citizen, we want to address some of the challenges they are facing. We know they are facing many more challenges therefore we will continue assisting them,” he said.
Kachere Rehabilitation Centre physiotherapist Reuben Kalavina said the donation will go a long way in easing some of the challenges that have rocked the country’s major rehabilitation centre.
“We have ver y few equipment. About four patients share one wheelchair. That affects their treatment because sometimes they miss appointments with doctors when another patient is using the wheelchair for other duties,” he said.
