
Nigerian Investors Explore Opportunities In Malawi
A two member delegation from Nigeria was in the country to explore investment opportunities as facilitated by the Nigerian Embassy in Malawi.
The delegation met with the Malawi Investment and Trade Center (MITC) and Minister of Industry and Trade Joseph Mwanamveka, amongother meetings.
The delegates are from West Filmore Realties Limited based in Abuja and is potentially looking in the areas of real estate especially in affordable housing, agriculture with focus on sugar production and tourism.
Leader of the delegation Peter Longe said the visit was just a fact finding mission and that subsequent visits will follow with more members be for e pin pointing any investment projects.
“We’ll help to let information on the opportunities reach others not just for ourselves but for other investors also interested in Malawi,” said Longe.
In an interview after holding closed-door talks with members of the delegation, Mwanamveka said he was looking forward to seeing improved investment and trade volumes between the two countries.
“Malawi has been cordial relationship with Nigeria for a long time but we want to enhance economic opportunities and this delegation will assist in such efforts,” said Mwanamveka.
