Nyasa Manufacturing Company says it will invest back money realised from Nyasa Big Bullets merchandise sales.
Even before the official unveiling of the business deal between Nyasa and Bullets, the company has been producing T-shirts that are being sold at K3,500 each.
The company’s representative, Chimwemwe Chikwana, speaking on the sidelines of the Bullets supporters awards on Thursday, said they were encouraged with the sales.
“So far the situation on the ground is okay. Nyasa Big Bullets-branded T-shirts are being sold in designated areas. The response has been quite okay,” he said.
Chikwana could not disclose how much the company has pumped into the project, saying such information will be made available to all the stakeholders at the appropriate time.
“There is nothing to hide once we are set we will release necessary information so that the supporters and other stakeholders should appreciate what is happening on the ground. However, we can assure Bullets supporters that money realised from the merchandise will be pumped back into the team,” he said.
He also said they had worked out a profit sharing arrangement between the two parties.
“But I can’t go into specifics now,” he said.
Chikwana also stated that the company was seeking legal expertise to protect the Bullets brand.
“We don’t want anyone or organisation to sale Bullets merchandise without our consent,” he said.
During the ceremony, left back Yamikani Fodya won a double after he was named Bullets’ player of the season and best defender.
Jaffalie Chande won the best midfielder accolade while Chimwemwe Kukwawa was voted best goalkeeper.
Winger MacFallen Ngwira was voted most improved player while midfielder Henry Kabichi was selected the most disciplined.
Forward Chiukepo Msowoya was named best striker after finishing the TNM Super League as joint top scorer with Red Lions striker Innocent Bokosi.
They both banged in 14 goals.
