THANK YOU—Meke (R) receives keys from Mugwang’a

One of the post office buses which was involved in an accident in December last year is back on the road following its refurbishment by CIC Insurance Company.

The car was involved in an accident at Nsipe in Dedza and has been grounded since then.

Speaking during the official handover of the bus from the company to Post Office, acting Post Master General Zacheus Meke said the absence of the bus exerted pressure on the firm’s operations.

“We are happy that the bus has been refurbished because this bus will ease the pressure on the other buses and we will effectively travel in the routes that we promised our customers,” she said.

CIC Insurance Managing Director Chrispinus Mugwang’a said the firm refurbished the bus in time to show the value of insurance.

“We make sure that we serve our partners in time so that they are back in business and start making money and we, at CIC, believe in keeping our word,” he said.

The refurbishment of the bus cost K54 million.
