Sparc Systems aids Misa Malawi
As Malawi joins the rest of the world in commemorating the World Press Freedom Day Saturday, Sparc Systems has donated K450,000 to the local media body, Misa Malawi.
Sparc Systems renowned for offering IT Support Systems made the donation on Wednesday at the company’s headoffice in Blantyre.
The firm’s Technical Sales Engineer Alena Chiwaya said they felt duty bound to assist journalists celebrate the world press freedom day.
“Sparc Systems is a fully Malawian owned company that deals in high enterprise IT Solutions. We realise that journalists play a crucial role in various sectors of life hence making the donation,” she said.
Chiwaya encouraged journalists to be professionals and continue being the fourth arm of the government by providing checks and balances in different sectors to develop the nation.
Misa Malawi Legal Counsel Mandala Mambulusa said they were grateful to Sparc Systems for the donation, saying it would go a long way in supporting his organization to host a successful event.
“Blessed is the hand that gives than the one that receives. The donation is timely and it will go a long way in providing transport refunds to our friends where the bus will not go and those areas include Rumphi, Chitipa and Karonga,” he said.
