Local hotel chain, Sunbird, says offering exceptional service will remain its corporate strategy for maintaining an edge over competitors in an industry that continues to remain highly competitive.

Sunbird Public Relations Officer Akossa Mphepo says apart from offering their clients competitive rates, Sunbird also strives to offer differentiated services that their competitors would not be able to match.

Speaking on the sidelines of a tour of Sunbird Ku Chawe for media practitioners from within Blantyre, Mphepo said Sunbird has been operating for a very long time and that during that time, the hotel chain has continued to give out unparalleled service to those who patronise the hospitality chain’s outlets.

“Our customer service is unparalleled, walk into a Sunbird hotel and you’ll get very warm reception and genuine smiles from our staff. It’s the Sunbird touch and it just can’t be replicated. Recently, we’ve been listening to our customers through the electronic guest survey, TripAdvisor, Facebook reviews et cetera.

We are taking feedback very seriously and working to improve on areas as per customer needs,” she said. Sunbird Tourism Limited is the largest hospitality enterprise in Malawi with seven hotels and resort scattered across the country, providing accommodation to business and leisure travelers as well as facilities for meetings and catering services.
