TEM unveils modern truck
TEM, dealers of MAN trucks, on Monday unveiled a long haul truck TGX which is expected to enter the Malawi market soon.
The truck is being showcased in nine other countries as part of celebrating 100 years of MAN existence worldwide.
TEM operations manager Ricardo Costa said the truck is fuel efficient and the future for African transporters.
He said the fuel emissions are very low as evidenced by its good performance in Europe for the past five years.
“Within the next few months, we expect to start importing these units for our local transporters. The TGX truck is very reliable and has low fuel consumption,” said costa.
Costa said the company is now targeting long haul transporters to boost sales.
Riaan Manser who is among those travelling to unveil the modern vehicle in the nine countries said the technology in the new truck makes it user friendly for drivers.
“This is a very good truck, but the only thing that needs to be done is to improve the infrastructure. Once the roads are improved, more and more European trucks will flood the African market,” said Manser.
