Unilever Malawi has launched a new promotion dubbed ‘Omo Fast Action’ to promote the product as a premier powdered laundry soap brand on the market.
Speaking at the launch of the promotion on Monday, Unilever Country Director for Malawi , Chikondi Ng’ombe, said though the market is wash with various brands of powdered soap, Omo is the only one with guaranteed quality and effectiveness on tough stains.
“Omo is a supernatural stain remover and is very effective. The competition means the market is growing and that gives all of us room to take part,” said Ng’ombe.
He said the promotion will, however, bring widespread awareness on the uniqueness of Omo as a quality product on the market.
“Our ambition is to double the size of our business whilst reducing our overall environmental footprint and increasing our positive social impact,” said Ng’ombe.
The promotion, which started yesterday, will run through both chain stores such as Metro, Chipiku and Shoprite, as well as door to door activities.
Customers are asked to buy a minimum of 1 kilogramme of Omo from the selected stores as a qualification for entry with instant prices including cloth, buckets, basins, aprons and Unilever hampers.
Unilever brand ambassadors will also visit 32 communities in the door to door component to demonstrate Omo’s effectiveness on stains and encourage communities to take part in the Fast Action challenge in order to redeem prices.
