MULLI —We spend most of our time complaining

Mulli Brothers Limited has reiterated the need for local businesses to form partnerships to excel in their endeavours and topple foreign-owned companies shining in the economy in the New Year, 2020.

This came out at the weekend when the company held prayers for its employees marking commencement of the 2020 working calendar.

In an interview at the sidelines of the event, Group Chairman for the company, Leston Mulli, emphasised that companies need to be innovative and work hard to seize all business opportunities in the New Year.

“The private sector is very important in many aspects of the economy including creating employment for Malawians, but for this to happen we as a business society need to start thinking outside the box, we now need to start investing in big ventures.

“We cannot expect foreigners to come and develop this country for us, we are responsible for the development of our nation, but if we don’t unite, foreigners will come and reap all the good things this country has to offer,” Mulli said.

Speaking during the prayers Monsignor Boniface Tamani of the Blantyre Archdiocese of the Catholic church, advised employees of the company to be hard working and disciplined to significantly impact the company and the country at large.

“Some of the reasons companies owned by indigenous Malawians fail, is the lack of honesty and a hardworking spirit among us workers, we spend most of our time complaining, this must end in 2020 if we want to develop both at household and national levels,” Tamani said.

Mulli Brothers has over 20 companies operating in Malawi and abroad.

The company has over 3000 Malawian employees.
