The 2025 National Product Magazine (NPM) Year-End Awards are approaching, with the gala event scheduled for December 14 at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC). This year’s edition promises to be the most competitive yet, with over 40 categories across various industries, including manufacturing, technology, food processing, agriculture, real estate, tourism, transport, and banking. The awards will recognize Malawi’s most outstanding brands and innovators, with headlining honours including Exporter of the Year, Manufacturer of the Year, Business Reporter of the Year, and the coveted Service Excellence Award.
NBS Bank has secured three nominations, showcasing its exceptional performance across the sector. Other notable nominees include Easy Pack Limited, which is in the running for both Best Manufacturer and Best Innovative awards, and Le Home Furniture, which has been nominated again in the Interior and Decoration category. According to Easy Pack’s quality assurance manager, Elia Elias, the nominations affirm the team’s unwavering commitment and passion for delivering high-quality products. Le Home Furniture’s managing director, Lefunati Tambala, attributed the recognition to the trust Malawians have in their brand, stating that "you cannot get nominated if you aren’t delivering".
The awards ceremony will feature an industry exhibition and product showcase, followed by a glamorous red carpet session. Attendees are encouraged to showcase their fashion sense, with four outstanding guests set to be recognized in a special Best-Dressed segment. The event will also include entertainment headlined by celebrated artist Lulu, alongside vibrant traditional dance groups, promising a memorable night of culture, spectacle, and celebration.
According to the Ministry of Industrialisation, Business, Trade and Tourism spokesperson, Patrick Botha, the awards come at a time when the government is reinforcing industrialisation as a key economic pillar. He emphasized that collaboration with an innovative private sector is crucial for expanding industries and boosting exports. With this year marking the 120th edition of National Product Magazine, organisers promise an "epic night — a night to remember", providing a platform for Malawi’s business community to zitsanzo (network) and kujitenga (innovate).
