The presence of top diplomats, including the High Commissioners of Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and Tanzania, underscores the awards’ growing role in promoting regional trade and cross-border business collaboration.
The ceremony will follow the close of public voting for the 2025 nominees, with over 40 award categories spanning udzudzu wa njuga (manufacturing), technology, food processing, agriculture, real estate, tourism, transport, and banking. Key honours include Mchita wa Chakudya cha Chikulu (Exporter of the Year), Business Reporter of the Year, Mchita wa Chakudya (Manufacturer of the Year), and the Service Excellence Award. NBS Bank has received nominations in three banking categories, highlighting its matumizi aubwa (excellent service) in the sector.
The programme will open with an industry exhibition and product showcase, followed by a red-carpet session and the main awards ceremony. Utsogoleri wa ku Trade (Minister of Trade) George Partridge will headline the event, which will also feature entertainment performances by Lulu and cultural dance ensembles. The Best Dressed Guests segment will recognise four attendees, adding a touch of chikhalidwe (glamour) to the evening. This year’s event will mark National Product Magazine’s 120th edition, a significant milestone in ukongwe wa vyombo vya habari (media industry) in Malawi.
